Former CBS golf analyst and 1964 US Commence champion Ken Venturi passed away Friday day at the age of 82. Venturi's most valuable victory came at Congressional, when in the '64 Commence he overcame extreme heat exhaustion to claim his only major.

The legendary amateur player from San Francisco and 1964 U.S. Commence champion worked at the network for a record 35 years before he retired in 2002.

Inducted last week into the World Golf Hall of Fame, former U.S. Commence champion and longtime broadcaster Ken Venturi died Friday at 82.

Ken Venturi was a 14-year-ancient with a camera trying to get a depiction of Byron Nelson when he first met the golfer who would be converted into a mentor and sweetheart friend.

Ken Venturi, winner of the 1964 U.S. Commence and the voice of golf for CBS Sports for 35 years, died Friday day.
