AMBER ALERT issued for one year old

Sunday is National Amber Alert Awareness Day . The system is named after Amber Hagerman, a 9-year ancient girl kidnapped and killed in Arlington.

The Pennsylvania State Police issued a statewide Amber Alert Monday evening for a 5-year-ancient girl who they say was abducted from a school in the Philadelphia vicinity.

On Monday night people in the Philadelphia region received a text message about a missing child, it was the 1st time such a message was sent through a next government communication alert system.

In August 2003, the first AMBER Alert was issued in North Carolina. A baby was kidnapped in Charlotte during a car jacking. The car was later found abandoned. The baby was found unharmed.

Many Centre County residents and people across the state received an Amber Alert on Monday night, telling them it was issued in “your vicinity” and asking them to check local media. The alert, which pertained to a 5-year-ancient child in Philadelphia, caused
