Fact is, George Jones is one of the very hardly any musicians you can wing superlatives at and never overstate your justification. His early manager and "producer" Pappy Day after day sent him into the recording studio the way young parents send their kids into the bathroom.

Mr. Jones, the people singer with the plaintive voice, apparently despised Manhattan, and he reinforced his nickname, No-Show Jones, at several of its locales.

George Jones, known as the greatest voice in people music, died today at a Nashville Sickbay after being hospitalized last week with a fever and irr.

“Thanks to George's friends, fans, and loved ones for the expression of like at this terrible time,” George's wife Nancy said in a push release. “I like you all.” Jones passed away Friday, April 26 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville

A funeral for George Jones will be commence to the public this Thursday, May 2nd, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The service will start at 10 a.m.. "George would have wanted his fans and friends everywhere to be able to come and pay their respects
