Giants' Top Pick Blends Intellect, Intensity and Drive

The Giants selected Syracuse OT Justin Pugh with their 2013 first round pick of the litter.

Pugh, a stellar left offensive tackle at Syracuse, has the versatility to play any position on the offensive line for the Giants.

Justin Pugh once dreamed of kick saves and hat tricks. Street hockey was his sport of choice while on the rise up in the Philadelphia suburb of Holland, Pa. Later, he graduated to playing the real thing, climbing out of bed at the crack of dawn to get ice

The Giants seemed very pleased with their first-round draft selection, but first he had to survive a smothering of hugs by friends and family upon his selection.

Justin Pugh 's cell reception was just fine in trade at home in Pennsylvania. Shortly after 10 p.m. ET on Thursday night, the offensive tackle out of Syracuse received the call that he had been drafted by the Giants with the 19th overall selection
