Katie Couric wins Manti Te'o sweepstakes, will have Notre Dame star on show ...

(CNN) — Manti Te'o — one of the best defenders this season in college football — defended himself in an ESPN interview, saying there was no way he was part of a hoax involving a deceased girlfriend.

Ms. Couric has landed the first television interview with the Notre Dame football star, who said he was tricked into believing first that he had a girlfriend and then that the girlfriend had died.
